MATHEMATICS:
Weekly math assignments (A Beka Mathematics 5)--topics covered: place value;
binary operations (=,-,x,/) with 1 and 2 digit divisors, 4 and 5 digit dividends, 2 and 3 digit multiplicands;
basic geometry, perpendicular and parallel lines, polygons, circles; perimeter and area of
rectangular-type shapes; fractions: +,- with like denominators, improper fractions, mixed numbers,
simplifying; averaging numbers; decimals: multiplying and dividing, adding and subtracting,
writing decimals as fractions; solving equations; measurement in metric; converting temperature
(Celsius to Fahrenheit) Emphasis: learning to apply arithmetic skillfully in order to function in daily life
FRENCH:
