Welcome Prospective Parents
ERCS offers a high-quality academic and social-emotional education and a safe environment where character development is key. Our focus on service to others both inside and outside the walls of the school makes ERCS a great place to learn and grow.
As a parent of three children who attended ERCS, a 10-year ERCS grade 7/8 teacher, and administrator for the past 6 years, I have experienced first-hand the difference a safe, loving, and nurturing environment can make in the life of a child.
At ERCS we believe that each child is uniquely created by God and we focus on helping each child reach their innate potential. This is accomplished through our Responsive Classroom pedagogy, gifted and caring teachers, strong academic program, and many extra-curricular opportunities. We would love to meet with you and discover how ERCS can help your child reach their full God-given potential.
Please schedule your personal tour of our school. We will be happy to answer your questions and provide additional information about our educational programs.

+ Financial Assistance
Elora Road Christian School offers tuition assistance to families who wish to send their children to the school but cannot afford full tuition payments. ERCS uses FAST (Financial Aid for School Tuition) for the analysis of tuition assistance applications. As most of the tuition assistance money comes from Elora Road Christian Fellowship, we ask that all other funding possibilities be explored before applying to this program.
For the 2023-2024 school year, the online application opens on March 1, 2023, and the submission deadline is May 1, 2023. After submission and verification by FAST, qualifying families will be considered for Christian School Foundation Bursaries and the ERCS Single-Parent Bursary. ERCS will apply to these bursaries on behalf of eligible applicants. To be considered for these bursary programs all supporting documents (including T1 tax forms and T4s) MUST be submitted on time. The deadline for Notice of Assessment submission is May 15, 2023.
If you intend to apply for tuition assistance we recommend that you plan ahead and complete your taxes early.
TUITION ASSISTANCE GUIDELINES
-
Any family registered at ERCS may apply for tuition assistance.
-
Families need to re-apply for tuition assistance each year.
-
All tuition assistance applications are due by May 1st.
-
Tuition assistance will be granted based on need. Completing an application does not guarantee that tuition assistance will be received.
-
Bus fees are NOT eligible for tuition assistance.
-
The charge for the FAST application is $53 USD and is to be paid by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express) after all sections have been completed. This fee is non-refundable. If you do not have a credit card, please call Elora Road Christian School for assistance.
-
Single-parent families may be eligible for tuition assistance through our Bursary Program. Low-income families may be eligible for tuition assistance through the Christian School Foundation (CSF). An online FAST application must be completed before a family will be considered for either of these programs. ERCS will apply for bursaries from the CSF on behalf of qualifying families.
-
To apply, click on the FAST icon. Choose ‘Start Application’ to begin. The application process is self-guided and allows for navigation in and out of the program so that applications DO NOT need to be completed all at one time. FAST has a 24/7/365 helpline available for any questions. The helpline can be reached at 1-877-326-FAST (3278).
-
After completing the online application all required tax documents and other requested documents MUST be uploaded into FAST for verification purposes. Alternatively, copies of documents can be mailed to the following address:
Independent School Management
Attn: FAST Processing Center
1316 N. Union Street
Wilmington, DE 19806
Application results will be communicated to families before the last day of the current school year.
+ FAQs
Do students require uniforms?
All students at ERCS wear school and gym uniforms. There are several options to ensure students are comfortable (skirts, pants, shorts, etc.). All uniform pieces can be purchased from Premium Promoworx in Fergus
Is busing available?
Busing is not available for the 2023/2024 school year. Families need to arrange their own transportation to and from school. We are hoping to offer bus service to all of our families in the 2024/2025 school year. There will be a separate bus fee for families who choose this option.
Is before and after school care available?
After school care is now available. Contact the school office to find out more about our after school program.
How does the academic standard compare to public schools?
At ERCS, we provide a quality education that meets or exceeds provincial standards. Biennial standardized testing ensures these standards are maintained.
Do you offer Special Education?
ERCS is committed to helping all of our students thrive and succeed. We have one full time and one part time educational assistant who provide extra support to students as needed. Since we are a small school, there are occasionally times when a student’s needs are greater than we have the capacity to help. We would be happy to meet with you to discuss any specific needs and accommodations your child may require.
Does ERCS receive any government funding?
No. We are supported by Elora Road Christian Fellowship, tuition payments, and fundraising.
What is the daily and yearly schedule?
The school year begins on the Tuesday after Labour Day and continues until the 3rd week of June. Christmas and March Break follow the same calendar as the local public schools.
The school day runs from 8:55am until 3:30pm. We follow a balanced day schedule, with two nutritional breaks and recesses spaced evenly throughout the day.
Is there a deadline for registration?
Most of our students register in the spring to begin the year in September, but we do accept student transfers at any time. The registration fee for new students increases from $100 to $150 for students registering after May 1st, or transferring mid-year. Please note – all tuition assistance applications must be received by May 1st to be considered for the coming school year.
